Choosing to walk away from all responsibility, even financial, because you made an arrangement with a 21-year-old at 22, is a selfish choice. Assuming this is your kid, you are in a unique position to help. And least it be overlooked, that kid is a person wholly separate from his mom who never made any agreement with you to let you off the hook financially and sisters are like fat thighs they always stick together shirt!

If the 5-year-old's mom is mentally unstable, abusive, irresponsible and TA, you have a completely vulnerable kid who may be hurting, living in a car, and going to bed hungry every night. I am not saying that's the situation. I am saying OP has no idea what the situation is. And OP, assuming he is the bio dad, washed his hands of all responsibility because he made an arrangement with a mom who, in this scenario, is basically a psycho. Wouldn't OP be TA to his biological child?
