The there is no planet B shirt! So yes, the mom does still need to live with her choice to be a single mother. Yes she agreed five years ago and will have to live with the consequences of that choice for the rest of her life. Yes it's super shitty to the child, and she should have thought about the fact that she'd be rasing a baby without a father before she decided to go ahead and have the baby. It may seem harsh, but in life we have to live with decisions we make, and we don't just get to change our mind years later when the going gets tough and there is no planet B shirt! 

Ok, so as a woman who has had an abortion, you're right it's not a walk in the park and there is no planet B shirt!  However, it was still my decision. When I made the choice to have sex, I knew I didnt want a baby so I used birth control. When I became pregnant, I decided I still didnt want a baby, so I had an abortion. Yeah, it was a shitty choice to make, do I want a baby and all that responsibly or do I want an abortion with all the potential mental trauma. But thats the reality of having sex. There's the potential for a baby, and both partners would in that situation need to make decisions. And no matter how many years go by, both me and the guy will have to live with our decision, whether we like it or not.
